  1. Those turkeys over at Etsy must be too busy celebrating because they seemed to have completely forgotten the biggest small business promo/ ad campaign taking place across the USA – Small Business Saturday. I still can’t believe that none of them figured out how to work this, especially since Amex has gone out of its way to publicize the event all over the media, and it would be great PR for THE LEGITIMATE Etsy sellers who epitomize what small business is all about. Oh well, just another case of Etsy Stupid.

  2. You are so right, Patty. But, remember. Etsy is “only a venue” hahahahahahaha…. Etsy WILL NEVER take money out of its pocket to advertise… when it can get it for free!

    • But that is precisely why it is the height of Etsy Stupidity for them not to participate- it IS free! It would have cost Etsy NOTHING to be a part of Small Business Saturday! Amex and its corporate partners are paying for the campaign and what a campaign it is. I have a tiny shop in a tiny Village in upstate NY and signed up on Facebook for the event. I got my store listed for free, I received 25 cloth shopping bags that say “Shop Small”, a Shop Small door mat for outside my store, free decals, pens, etc. Plus syndicated local cable tv ads that encourage people to support local businesses. WTF is wrong with Etsy that weren’t a part of this?? Are they so invested in freakin’ CHINA that they can’t be bothered to do something that would give their sellers nationwide attention? As far as I’m concerned, this is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
