Etsy “Poaching” on Seller Listings

Don’t be deceived into thinking Etsy is doing you a big favor in paying for Etsy listings to show up in Google Shopping.  Etsy is merely using your product to entice buyers to the site, with no regard for whether they buy from you or someone else. And that someone else may be profiting from all your hard SEO work.

When arriving on Etsy from a Google Shopping ad, top billing is given to Similar Items, potentially leading buyers away from the listing they clicked to view.  Etsy is effectively

putting a “stop sign” in front of your listing,

and a “turn-left sign” to other listings.

This Seller explains it well in her blog post and in this forum post.
